Guia de Viagem de Xiamen e Gulangyu 2026 — Brisa Marinha, Arquitetura Colonial e Ilha Sem Carros

Xiamen & Gulangyu

Xiamen is a leafy Fujian coastal city — seafront cycling, universities and temples — with the car-free, piano-and-colonial-villa island of Gulangyu just offshore. A gentle, sunny contrast to China’s megacities.

“Car-free island lanes, colonial rooftops and oyster omelettes facing the harbour.”

Visa & entry

Transit and visa-free rules change often — check the current list against your passport before booking.

Best time to visit

October to April is mild and dry — the sweet spot. Summer (July–September) is hot and typhoon-prone; winters stay green and comfortable. Book Gulangyu ferries ahead on weekends and holidays.

How many days

  • 2 dias — Gulangyu Island + Xiamen’s seafront.
  • 3 dias — add Nanputuo, universities and Shapowei lanes.

Getting there & around

Xiamen Gaoqi Airport (XMN) is close to town; high-speed rail links Shenzhen (~2h) and Fuzhou (~1.5h). Metro, BRT and Didi cover the city; for Gulangyu, take the ferry from the Dongdu Cruise Centre (foreign passports) — no cars allowed on the island.

Top things to do

  • Gulangyu — Sunlight Rock, the Piano Museum and maze of villa lanes.
  • Xiamen University — one of China’s most beautiful campuses.
  • Nanputuo Temple at the foot of Wulao peaks.
  • Cycle or walk the Huandao Road coast path and Baicheng Beach.
  • Shapowei art zone and Zengcuo’an food village.

A 2-day Xiamen itinerary

  • Dia 1 — ferry to Gulangyu: Sunlight Rock, piano museum, café lanes; ferry back for Shapowei dinner.
  • Dia 2 — Xiamen University → Nanputuo Temple → Huandao Road cycling → seaside sunset.

What to eat

Fresh seafood, shacha (satay) noodles, oyster omelette, peanut soup and taro snacks — Fujian flavours with a strong Southeast-Asian accent.
