High-speed rail to Huangshan North: Hangzhou ~1.5h, Shanghai ~3h; Tunxi Airport (TXN) is nearby. Shuttle to the South Gate (Tangkou) and ride the Yungu or Yuping cable car up. Carry only a daypack for the summit; stairs do the rest.

- How many days do you need for Huangshan? — Two days on the mountain (to catch sunset and sunrise from summit hotels) plus a day for the Hongcun and Xidi villages is the classic three-day plan.
- Is climbing Huangshan hard? — You can cable-car most of the way up, but expect steps and ridges between peaks. Stay on the summit overnight and it’s very doable with moderate fitness.
